The story
Three is a Crowd is one of the most serene and intimate aerial images in the Modus Photography collection — two tiny swimmers float in the most luminous, pale mint-turquoise water imaginable, a gentle wave curls in softly from the left, and the sugar-white sand of the 30A shoreline is just visible at the bottom of the frame. The water is so impossibly clear and shallow that the rippled sand beneath the surface is visible through it, giving the whole image an ethereal, almost dreamlike quality. Just two people, the Gulf, and all the space in the world.
